Presence of spider mites were identified late in the growing season (R4 growth stage), so no insecticide was administered following University recommendations. Jeff Nichols, Resource Conservationist, NRCS and Miles Anderson Range Tech TSP, Twin Platte NRD, estimated percent residue cover using the Line- Transect Method. There were five locations across the field with 10 total estimations being collected. The average of the estimated percent residue cover for this field was 90%.

Pre-Nitrogen fertilizer in the form of UAN 32% was applied for the competition plots "Farms" using Surefire Ag Systems application and control system.
